Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav
As Indians, we have a plethora of festivals to celebrate with our friends and family. While India’s culture is well-known for its vibrancy and variety, it also possesses rich history in both form and function. This year, on January 30th, India celebrates Amrit Mahotsav (The Festival of Immortality). A tradition that has occurred annually since 1857 by Sikh families around India. The goal of celebrating such an occasion: remember and celebrate all those who sacrificed their lives during India’s independence struggle between 1857-1947
